I hoping this review will lead to some assistance from whomever is the franchise owner or general manager for the Lancaster, PA location since the manager, Manny, can not handle doing this job.

Long story, but here is a shortened version.... The manager, Manny and I discussed my monthly membership fee and we agreed on the pricing before I signed the membership contact. We agreed I would pay a one time $50 fee and then pay $19 per month. Unfortunately, my monthly payments began withdrawing at $27, NOT the $19 Manny and I discussed and agreed upon. I called the financial company that deals with Gold's Gym accounts to notify them of the problem, but they were unable to help me because she pointed out my contract indicated I was to be paying $27 per month, which is NOT the contract I agreed upon with Manny and signed. I also contacted Gold's Gym Corporate and was not able to be helped because PA locations are franchised owned and operated. Corporate could not give me the contact information for the owner. I have made several trips into the gym and spoke with both the assistant manager and Manny regarding my account. Month after month I am billed at $27 without any resolution. Most recently I was at the gym to workout and AGAIN speak with Manny about the billing problem. I was informed by the assistant manager that Manny was not yet at work and he would be at the desk when my class was finished at 10:15am. When my class left out I went to the front desk to meet up with Manny, expecting him to be waiting to meet with me, but I was informed by the assistant manager that Manny was going into the Flow class and I just missed him. The manager should be available during his shifts to help members and employees of the gym and not be taking a class, especially when he knows a member is going to be looking to speak with him at a designated time. I went over to the Flow classroom myself and asked him to speak with me. During this conversation in front of many members he was extremely rude and unprofessional about the situation. He informed me that he has to "handle lots of membership problems besides mine" and it could take "a few more months to be resolved". First, that is an unacceptable response to a member's billing issues. Second, he already had a few months to resolve the issue. Obviously he is not manager material and can not handle resolving the issues of the members of the gym. The manager can't do his job, the financial company can't adjust billing mistakes, and the corporate office can't help because this location is a franchise. Getting the run around month after month with no resolution is extremely frustrating. This gym isn't worth this hassle! If I could go back in time I would have NEVER joined. The facility is a dump, the equipment is beat up and most of the treadmills are broken. The group exercise room is a disgrace with a water stained drop ceiling ready to crumble down on you, old broken hardwood flooring that is a hazard, disgustingly dirty mats, a terrible old sound system, and old beat up weights.

Good equipment, however the only way to cancel your membership is to send a letter to the headquarters. A bit antiquated for a cancellation process. If this is meant as a tactic to discourage cancellation, I think it quite dishonest

The Ab Room in the back is rarely swept. Now this room in particular is where people plank and use the mats for many activities performed on the floor... why are these floors not cleaned on a daily basis? The paper towels run out constantly as well as the cleaning spray liquid. I do have to commend the staff for friendliness and the bathrooms for cleanliness. The shakes they sell are a bit pricey, but they often have sales on them and on their other products and merchandise. The sauna room is also great and the tanning room is also functional and at your disposition.

Great equipment and friendly staff, but the locker rooms and showers are the nastiest I’ve ever seen. Bugs, garbage and hair in every shower and most of the lockers have a thick layer of dust in them. It’s surprising that a franchise would allow this.

Love the people but this place needs some serious remodeling and cleaning.

Love my Gym! Great staff very knowledgeable. They are helping me reach my goals. Management is great!! Gym is very clean.

The floors were upgraded after masking tape could no longer do the trick. The mirrors have some shattered sections and it looks like humidity is making its way through the walls, giving the mirrors and ceiling that eroded look.
