So I don't think I can begin to accurately convey in words my true expressions of excitement and shear joy when I found out I had been missing out on a Pat's Pizza location in Lancaster, PA. So yes, I make the 35 minute + drive from York County over to Lancaster for Pat's Pizza. If we're just comparing pizza, and when compared to all this horrible pizza I've had elsewhere around here, Pat's Pizza Lancaster is and will always be a 5 star. The problem I have is of course in my mind and with a sense of nostalgia I compare everything here to the Pat's Pizza locations back home.
The let downs I have experience typically involve the young ladies at the counter. I know they're just young high school or college kids working in a pizza place and what should I really expect from them but if you're going to be waiting on customers at a mostly carry out place you still have to try and do a little better. The last time I was at Pat's Pizza Lancaster we ate in and my pizza came out on the plastic food service trays and she didn't give us any plates or utensils. As she was all but running away from our table after dropping the pizza off she gave me a complete dumbfounded look when I tried to get her attention to ask for flatware and some plates. There are clearly 3 of us at the table and she asks "How many do you need just one? or two?" and keeps walking away before I can even answer her.
The last time I visited I kind of felt let down a little by the service and that's when I clicked to give them a 3 star rating. I had been wanting to review them on Google for some time now but wanted to try more menu items before I did. Now that I took some time to think of all the other times I've been here, in all fairness overall I would change my ranking and say 4 stars.
Pat's has an excellent gluten free and lactose free menu. Their party pizza is a great bang for your buck. We've tried many of the items on the menu and loved them all. Staff is helpful and friendly and the dining area is clean. I highly recommend.
Fast forward to today. Finding good pizza has been a frustrating task ever since moving to York County, PA 5 years ago. There are literally NO good pizza places when compared to what I was used to back home. There are two that stand out above the rest locally and are fairly good, but they all still pale in comparison to Pat's. Don't even get me started on what these other places try to pass off as a cheesesteak out here. And a sub or hoagie? Forget about it. The rolls are deplorable and no one knows whats supposed to be on a REAL Italian sub.

I love Pat's Pizza. Always have. I grew up in Southern New Jersey where Pat's was a staple in our home. There are of course many good pizza places in New Jersey, but our first choice was always Pat's Pizza. Eventually when I was growing up we moved over to Delaware and thankfully there were still plenty of Pat's Pizza restaurants there to. Just like in NJ, Delaware has a lot of good pizza places and Pat's was always our go to pizza place over them all.
Terrible customer service. Thankfully the manager was able to step in and rectify the situation but whomever answered the phone initially had an attitude, unprovoked. Continued with my order but fear that it will be tampered with. Merry Christmas!
This is easily the worst pizza I’ve had from any place in Lancaster. Bland crust and sauce, like eating tasteless cardboard. Quality has gone downhill from when they opened. Little Caesars is a better choice. Very disappointed.
Since discovering there is a Pat's Pizza in Lancaster I have gone out of my way to try it a couple of times. I am very torn on my review and I am trying to be as fair as possible. It'll be a long one so get comfortable ....
PIZZA: It's just the best. Great cheese, sauce, toppings, and crust. some people seem to be annoyed with the pizza crust but this is what I am used to. It is not a NY Style thin crust, its thicker, but its not a deep dish. Just try it, you might like it. While you're at it get a Supreme square or party pizza, that's one of my favorites! Which brings up anther good point .... this is the ONLY pizza place out here that does a party pizza.
I'm sorry if I went on forever about the bad, but its not all bad. Pat's is delicious and good.
My other problem is the Cheesesteak. I take cheese steaks very seriously. Even back home Pat's was not the best cheesesteak I ever had. (that honor always went to the now defunct Terrigno's Deli) Pat's was always above par at least. The ones I've ordered here in Lancaster though are a bit dry, kind of lacking in substance, and the cheese isn't melted to well.
